FinMin earmarks Rs 5.46 billion for tourism industry

KATHMANDU, MAY 28: The government has announced the allocation of Rs 5.46 billion to help bolster the tourism industry. The very announcement was made by Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun while presenting the national budget for the fiscal year 2024/25 in the parliament on Tuesday.
In the next fiscal year, in order to impel 1.6 million international tourists to visit Nepal promotional activities will be organized in various foreign countries, including India. Moreover, there are plans zeroed in on promoting religious tourism.
According to Minister Pun, eco-hills will be established in the Chure and Himalayan mountain regions apart from developing the Great Himalayan Trail and Mundhum Trail for trekking routes.
