NEPSE declines by over 15 points
KATHMANDU, MAY 6: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by 15.62 points to close at 1,958.75 points. The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also saw a decline of 3.38 points.
In today’s trading session, as many as 6,978,321 shares changed their hands, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 2.89 billion. The very kind of amount was less than 9 million compared to yesterday.
The sub-indices of all sectors closed in the red except for the Development Bank Index, which posed a gain of 0.23%. Of the 12 losers, the non-life insurance shed the highest of 112.60 points.
Among individual companies, 62 saw an increase in their stock values while the share prices of 177 went down. Citizen Life Insurance Company Limited (CLI) topped the list in terms of transaction amount at Rs 319.83 million.
Meanwhile, Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited (BNT) witnessed the highest increase of 9.03% in its share price. Conversely, Pokhara Finance Limited (PFL) and Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) each experienced the largest loss of 10%.
