KATHMANDU, APRIL 16:The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a warning regarding the leaving of construction materials unattended on streets and pavements. It emphasized the importance of cleaning up the road and footpath after completing construction works. The KMC urged all concerned parties not to scatter materials, as they obstruct public movement and hinder development management.
The accumulation of materials on streets and pavements has also affected KMC’s beautification campaign. Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol cautioned that they would take strict action against those responsible for the mess.
Furthermore, individuals or companies intending to build infrastructure are required to obtain permission before undertaking any work in public places or roads. The KMC issued a notice reminding everyone of the legal provisions outlined in the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, and the Environment Protection Act, 2076.
