BYD rolls off its 7 millionth new energy vehicle
MARCH 26: BYD, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of new energy vehicles and power batteries, achieved a significant milestone by rolling out its 7 millionth new energy vehicle, the DENZA N7, at its Jinan factory in China. This achievement made yesterday marks another “groundbreaking” accomplishment for the brand.
“BYD reached the production milestone of 1 million NEVs in May 2021 and rapidly increased this figure threefold within 18 months. Within just 9 additional months, BYD surpassed 5 million units, and in a further 7 months, reached the remarkable 7 million milestone. This acceleration underscores BYD’s robust end-to-end supply chain and the impact of scale,” claims a presss release issued by the company.
In 2023, BYD’s cumulative annual sales of NEVs soared to 3.02 million units, consolidating its position as the global leader in NEV sales. Across its extensive brand portfolio, a variety of models is said to have consistently led sales rankings within their respective categories.
BYD, in 2023, experienced a surge in overseas new energy passenger car sales that exceeded 240,000 units—a remarkable 337% year-on-year growth. This achievement positioned BYD as the top Chinese exporter of NEVs in 2023.
Presently, BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles are available in 64 countries and regions worldwide, including Nepal. Cimex Inc. is acting as the authorised distributor of BYD for the country.
