Pakistan Celebrates 84th National Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Kathmandu
March 23. On the momentous occasion of Pakistan’s 84th National Day, the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu hosted a dignified Flag Hoisting Ceremony today. Ambassador His Excellency Abrar H Hashmi had the honor of hoisting the National Flag, surrounded by Pakistani community members, friends of Pakistan, and embassy officials and their families.
The ceremony began with the reading of messages from the highest echelons of Pakistan’s leadership. President Asif Ali Zardari paid homage to the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices of Pakistan’s forefathers in securing an Independent State for Muslims. He also emphasized the importance of remembering past achievements while praying for an end to subjugation and brutalities faced by Kashmiris and Palestinians.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt felicitations to Pakistanis both at home and abroad on this auspicious occasion. He voiced the nation’s resolve to overcome various challenges, including inflation and terrorism, with a collective effort to transform Pakistan into a beacon of peace, progress, and stability.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar conveyed warm greetings to Overseas Pakistanis and urged them to continue excelling in their respective fields. He underscored that the nation’s development and progress are intrinsically linked to the success, achievements, and excellence of its citizens, both at home and abroad. Dar also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to upholding the principles of the UN Charter and international law on the global stage.
Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi, in his remarks, reminisced about the determination and resolution of Muslims in 1940 and the ongoing struggle to foster prosperity in Pakistan. He extended greetings to all attendees and underscored the significant aspects of the close Pakistan-Nepal relationship. Furthermore, he elaborated on the efforts undertaken by the Embassy to strengthen this bond further.
The ceremony was attended by a diverse gathering, including members of the Pakistani community in Nepal, well-wishers of Pakistan, and officials from the Embassy and their families. The event served as a poignant reminder of the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Nepal, reaffirming the commitment to mutual prosperity and shared values.
