Same individual/group is no longer allowed to possess both businesses and banks
KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced that the government has implemented legal measures to tackle issues stemming from the ownership of both businesses and bank by the same individual or group.
Addressing queries raised by MPs during a House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted ongoing efforts towards policy and legal reforms to address this issue. He emphasized the importance of preventing a scenario where limited resources are controlled by a select few, which could pose various risks and restrict economic outcomes.
Prime Minister Dahal also underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing domestic production and fostering job creation. He mentioned the launch of the Domestic Employment Promotion Decade campaign aimed at generating employment opportunities within the country. Additionally, initiatives are underway to boost investment in productive sectors, prioritizing domestic labor.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal revealed plans to revamp the Prime Minister’s Employment Program, aiming to enhance its effectiveness by linking it to specific outcomes.
