Economy is improving, claims FinMin
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 6: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has urged industrialists and entrepreneurs to free themselves from negative perspectives. Inaugurating the 57th annual general meeting of the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce here today, the Finance Minister emphasized the need to do business with positive thinking.
He also claimed that with the positive sign of improvement in the economy, foreign investors have started showing interest in investing in Nepal.
Minister Mahat wondered, “How can a country’s economy improve if industrialists and entrepreneurs harbour negative thoughts.” Though problems of the economy have not been resolved completely, there are now some improvements as compared to the past, he shared, admitting that the country’s economy is under pressure, not at problems.
He further argued, “The country’s economy faced pressure after Nepal Rastra Bank brought a strict monetary policy reasoning that banks invested in share market and real estate.” The monetary policy is being relaxed gradually to ease the economic activities, Mahat shared.
