Over 170 industries registered in five months

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 3: In the first five months of the current fiscal year, 172 industries national and foreign- have been registered, according to the Department of Industry. Of them, 21 are big, 14 medium, 137 small.
Their total investment is estimated at Rs 98.93 billion and they will employ 12,767 people. Of the total investment, foreign industries account for Rs 20.60 billion. Similarly, they have proposed to provide employment opportunities to 10,120.
During the review period, 2,138 trademarks were registered and 14 trademark-related cases were filed at the Department.
