Remmitance inflow swells by over 26 percent
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 15: The remittance inflow grew by 26.4 per cent to Rs 477.96 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year. In US Dollar terms, such flow increased by 23.1 per cent to 3.60 billion in the review period, according to a report published by Nepal Rastra Bank. (NRB) yesterday.
Similarly, from mid-July to mid-November this fiscal, the number of Nepali workers, both institutional and individual, taking first-time approval for foreign employment stands at 137,475 and getting approval for renewed entry stands at 68,841.
During the corresponding period last year, such numbers were 196,735 and 87,428 respectively. Net transfer increased 24.9 per cent to Rs.521.40 billion in the review period. Such a transfer had increased by 20.2 per cent in the same period of the last fiscal year.
