Study on Iron Mines Excavation gathers pace in Rukum East

RUKUM East, December 11: A feasibility study is being conducted to excavate iron mines in Rukum (East).It started last week following the detection of an iron mine in Bhume Rural Municipality. A team consisting of geologists from the Department of Mines and Geology, Sujan Devkota and Saunak Bhandari, is carrying out the study in the Bhume Rural Municipality-3, Jhumlabang.
The task of the study did not gain momentum in the past due to financial reasons. Bhume Chairperson Hom Prakash Shrestha said it is now going on in several places in the rural municipality.
Locals also said that iron mine excavations are taking place in the areas where iron mines were detected earlier.
