Govt to provide loan at base rate interest to produce COVID-19 vaccines

Kathmandu, August 14 . The government will provide loan at base rate interest to develop COVID-19 vaccines. Arrangements will be made for banks and financial institutions to provide loans at base rate interest to the industries which want to produce standard vaccines against the infection, said Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari while unveiling the monetary policy for the fiscal year, 2021/22 on Friday.
It came in the context that the government is at work to produce COVID-19 vaccines. Similarly, arrangements will be made for banks and financial institutions to provide loans in an easy way to establish a hospital with up to 100 beds at a local level.
Existing provisions relating to the import of lifesaving drugs and medical equipment for the treatment of problems caused by the infection will be reviewed and facilitated accordingly.
