PM Dahal asks business communities of UAE to invest in Nepal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed the necessity for substantial investments in infrastructure, human resources, and technology to enable Nepal’s graduation from the LDC category by 2026. During the Nepal-Business Forum in the UAE, he extended an invitation to the UAE’s business communities to invest in Nepal, emphasizing opportunities in sectors such as hydropower, tourism, agriculture, and ICT.

He highlighted recent advancements in science and technology in Nepal and urged investors from the UAE to explore collaboration in these areas. The PM announced Nepal’s decision to host the third Investment Summit in April 2024, inviting potential investors in areas of comparative and competitive advantage.

He reassured investors of a conducive business environment, citing recent legal and procedural reforms. Nepal is commitment to safeguarding and promoting investor interests and mentioned ongoing efforts to finalize bilateral investment agreements, according to him.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the UAE’s hospitality towards Nepali migrant workers, suggesting their skills and capital could contribute to Nepal’s socio-economic development. He encouraged investments in training migrant workers to enhance their productivity. The Nepal-Dubai Business Forum was jointly organized by FNCCI, Dubai Chambers, and the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi yesterday (Thursday).
