Rs 1.5 billion Honda Assembly Plant commenced in Nepal

MARCH 6: The assembly plant of the Honda brand of two-wheeler from Japan has been established in Nepal.  Minoru Kato, Vice President of Honda Motorcycle’s main business unit, along with various domestic and foreign representatives, inaugurated the plant today at an event organised today in Bhairawaha. Among the dignitaries present were  Tayuki Nakanose, General Manager of Kumamoto Factory, Vehicle Assembly Plant; Tetsuya Komine, Sales Director from ASH (Thailand); Mr. Yoichi Shimada, Production Director; Masahide Hirose, Sales Department Manager; and Mr. Yasuyuki Yamamoto, Assistant Manager, from Japan.

Additionally,  Naveen Awal, Production Director from HMSI (INDIA), and  Pradeep Chaudhry, General Manager of Export/Import Sales & After Sales, graced the occasion.

Prominent figures from Nepal, including Chabilal Biswakarma, Member of the House of Parliament; Honourable Santosh Pandey, Home Minister of Lumbini Province; Bhagwati Chaudhary, Province Member of Parliament; Bidya Yadav, Chairperson of Rohini V.D.C; Hari K. Bhatt, former Chairperson of Om Satiya V.D.C; Padma Jyoti, Chairman of Jyoti Group; and Saurabh Jyoti, Chairman of Himal Moto Nepal P. Ltd, were also present.

With an investment of Rs 1.5 billion and covering an area of 220,000 square feet, the plant can produce 100,000 motorcycles and scooters. Honda, with over 55 years of trust from its customers, is the highest-selling brand of two-wheelers in Nepal. The new plant, as is claimed, reflects Honda Nepal’s commitment to maintaining world-class quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd., Honda’s authorized distributor for Nepal, has stated that the company will increase the availability of products, accessibility of spare parts, and services through its subsidiary company, Himal Moto Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
