KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15: The influence of westerly wind is currently partly prevailing in Nepal. There is also a partial influence of the low-pressure system around the southern part of Bangladesh. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall due to this reason.
According to the Division, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly region and foggy conditions have occurred in most places of the Tarai region at present. The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region and mainly fair in the rest of the country. Light rain is likely to occur in some places of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Light snowfall is likely to occur at a few places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light rain and light snowfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces during the night. Kathmandu recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius today.
