25th Flora Expo in Bhrikuti Mandap on Mar 14 to 17

KATHMANDU, MARCH 12: The 25th Flora Expo is being held at Bhrikuti Mandap in the capital by the Floriculture Association of Nepal from March 14 to 17. It was informed by the Association by organising a press conference yesterday in the capital.  The prime objective of the annual expo with a prime objective to help promote the floriculture business in the country.

The 4-day event is planned to feature a total of 72 stalls among which 60 are professional and 8  official.  Similarly, 3 pertain to landscaping, 1  to competition and 1 to food. The fair will showcase seasonal flowers, cut flowers, dry flowers, orchids, compost fertilizer, flower seeds, greenhouse, agricultural implements, pesticides, packaging materials and related things.

Like in previous years, the participating floriculture entrepreneurs will also be awarded in different categories like “Best Stall”, “Best Landscaping”, “Best Floral Decoration”, “Best Flower Cut”, etc.  It is expected that the fair will see 50,000 footfalls.

The floral industry in Nepal, which employs 44,000 people, boasts an investment worth over Rs 7 billion. According to available data, Nepal imported flowers worth Rs 330 million and exported the same amounting to Rs 6.8 million in the last fiscal year 20022/23.
