KATHMANDU, MARCH 21: Controversial businessman Binod Chaudhary has claimed that he is falling prey to politicisation. While talking to reporters this morning after being quizzed by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepali Police regarding his involvement in the illicit land capturing of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory, he made such a claim.
Arguing that he is totally innocent when it comes to the land scam, Chaudhary said, “The charge levelled against me smacks off a blatant politicisation of business, investment, etc. nd, this very lethal to the well-being of the entire private sector of the country.” “A person of my professional repute being dragged into a scandal has sent a negative message to industrialists, entrepreneurs, employers and taxpayers.”
Implicitly indicating to Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane ( as per the order of whom the CIB started to interrogate Chaudhary), Chaudhary satirically stated, “I do not need to present a character certificate reading my 45-year-long business journey to the one doing political stunts .”
It may be noted that Chaudhary, also a lawmaker from Nepali Congress, was found illegally transferring the factory land measuring 1o ropanis under the name of his company-Champion Footwear. Because of this, the CIB is launching an investigation into him.
Apart from being a lawmaker from the Nepali Congress, Chaudhary is the president of the Chaudhary Group (CG).
