International Conference on Green Technology begins in Gaindakot

NAWALPUR, MAY 10: A two-day international conference on green technology and talent management has commenced in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurva), Nawalpur. The conference is organized by the Oxford College of Engineering and Management in Nawalpur in collaboration with the Pokhara University Research Centre, Technical University of Denmark, and University Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia, with the support of the University Grants Commission Nepal.

Speaking at the conference on ‘Green Technology and Talent Management’, Professor Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal, Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University, stated that Pokhara University has revised its curriculum to be research-based. Aryal emphasized that a research-based curriculum will enhance the knowledge and skills of students, highlighting the current necessity of research-based education.

Aryal mentioned that by developing research-based teaching methods, competitive manpower can be produced at the international level. During the conference, Dr. Dayaram Dhakal, Dean of the Pokhara University Management Department, expressed concern about the declining human sensibilities in society, advocating for research methods based on social values and recognition. He further remarked that individuals are becoming increasingly selfish, prioritizing their own interests over the welfare of others.

As a special speaker, Professor Dr. Thomas Koehler, Director of Germany’s Centre for Open Digital Innovation and Participation, advocated for a global research-oriented teaching approach. Koehler asserted that research courses will enhance students’ research skills, thereby contributing to the development of competitive manpower.

It is reported that researchers from Nepal, Germany, the Netherlands, Indonesia, India, and other countries will deliver key presentations on green technology during the event.  Hari Bhandari, Principal and Professor of Oxford College, stated that 41 research papers from professors working in various universities will be presented during the conference.

Bhandari mentioned that the conference aims to develop research-oriented teaching methods while enhancing educational quality. He added that the main objectives include fostering global connections to promote educational activities, facilitating cooperation and networking among researchers, and exchanging cultures and customs from different countries.

Researchers from the university will present their papers both physically and online during the conference. Bhandari highlighted that the conference aims to encourage academicians to engage in research, with an emphasis on creating research-based curricula to enhance quality research in academia and the social domain.”
