Two arrested with Rs 9.8 million from Durbar Marg

KATHMANDU, MAY 10: The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested two individuals along with Rs 9.8 million cash of undisclosed source. They are Samir Sunar, 28, and Milan BK, 29, both from Siyari rural municipality-7 in Rupandehi, as stated by the Chief of the Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanuram Bhattarai.

During a news conference held today, Bhattarai shared that both individuals were apprehended from Durbar Marg yesterday. He mentioned, ‘As per our preliminary investigation, they were also found to be involved in Hundi (money transfer through unofficial channels) and gold smuggling.’ Police also seized a car (Ba 13 Cha 4858) from them. Earlier, a warrant notice had been issued against Milan BK on September 27, 2023, for his involvement in smuggling 11.5 kg of gold in Dolakha, and he had been absconding since then.

According to preliminary investigations, both individuals have been involved in criminal activities for the past two years, added the police. Samir and Milan will be transferred to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation today.”
