Call for addressing Dr KC’s demands
Kathmandu, July 22. People from different walks of life including doctors, students and general people have demanded that the government should address the demands of protesting Dr Govinda KC. They made the demand at a protest rally organised here in a bid to create pressure to address Dr KC’s demands.
Addressing the demonstration, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki and rights activist Krishna Pahari said the demands raised by Dr KC are people’s issues, so the government should address them at the earliest. Dr KC is on a hunger strike at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital demanding reforms in medical sector.
On the occasion, advocate Om Prakash Aryal informed that a mass hunger strike would be launched on Sunday demanding Dr KC’s life be saved.
Also, former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, former Health Minister Gagan Thapa, writer Khagendra Sangraula and actress Manisha Koirala participated in the protest rally.
