Writer Jagadish Ghimire remains no more

Kathmandu, Oct 31 – Writer Jagadish Ghimire has died on Thursday morning at the age of 68. Ghimire was receiving treatment at Om Hospital for Multiple myeloma, a tumour of the bone marrow for over a month.

 

Ghimire had won Madan Puraskar for his biography Antarmanko Yatra. Sabiti, Bardi and Sakas were other acclaimed novels written by him. He was also the Co-founder of Tamakoshi Seva Samiti, a non profit non governmental organisation working in the rural areas of Ramechhap district for community development, health and education.

 

His last work was Sakas, a novel about the subalterns in modern Nepali history. Other published works include novels Lilam, Sabiti, Bardi, a play Santan and a collection of short stories.
