Lata Manageskar gets 1st Yash chopda memorial award

Mumbai, Oct 20 – Legendary female Play back singer Lata Manageskar has been honored with 1st Yash chopda memorial award on Saturday. She was awarded by Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari for her contribution to Hindi cinema.
According to the source, lata Manageskar attended the function despite of her weak health condition since last three days.
Reporting to the Indian news channel 'Aaj Tak' Manageskar said, she has been in the function not for Rs10 lakhs……"Yashji was special and close to my heart… We did not meet always but we were close as we loved each other," Lata said, adding she felt sad as she could not meet Yashji before his demise last year.
The function had presence of Bollywood stars Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Jeetendra, Rani Mukerji, Hema Malini, Akshay Kumar, Subhash Ghai, Simi Garewal, Sonali Bendre including few more.
