Students of Samsung Innovation Campus’ awarded certificates
KATHMANDU, JULY 12: Samsung has awarded certificates to 53 students from the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering for completing the 3rd batch of the Coding and Programming course under its flagship CSR program, Samsung Innovation Campus. The next batch of students is set to start the Artificial Intelligence course at the university.
The certificates were presented at a ceremony held recently at the Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, attended by In Su Kim, Head of Samsung's Nepal Office, and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor and Dean of the Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering. Other notable attendees included Binod Kumar Bhattarai, Assistant Dean, Suraj Lamichhane, Assistant Dean, and Dr. Indra Prasad Acharya, Campus Chief of Pulchowk Campus.

Samsung launched its global CSR program, Samsung Innovation Campus, at Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering in December 2023. The program aims to train youth in Nepal in future tech skills such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data, and Coding & Programming, thereby contributing to the development of a strong technology and innovation ecosystem in Nepal. The prerequisites for the courses include knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and programming.
As part of the program, students will be equipped with real job skills and in-demand tech skills to enhance their digital literacy, learning abilities, creativity, and employability. The program also offers soft skills training to further enhance students’ employability and ability to apply their knowledge effectively.
Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean of the Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, said they are delighted to run this prestigious course in Nepal. "This is instrumental for the development and upskilling of our students. We completed the Coding & Programming course and it was highly appreciated."
Samsung Innovation Campus was launched in 2019 as part of Samsung’s global CSR vision of “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People,” aiming to train students and youth in key technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, nurturing them to be the next-generation workforce.
