Govt committed to address private sector's concerns: Finance Minister
KATHMANDU, JULY 19: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Paudel, assured the government's commitment to addressing the private sector's concerns. During a meeting on Friday with a delegation from the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, which visited the Minister to congratulate him on his new role, he said, "The formation of the incumbent government aims to promote both political and economic stability."
He further stated, "The government will exert maximum efforts to revive the economy that has been dented. We urge for faith and trust in the government. Immediate demands will be addressed promptly, while others will be considered in the upcoming budget," the Minister told the delegation.
The Chamber team, presenting a 40-point submission to the government, drew attention to the growing imbalance between demands and supplies caused by the economic slowdown, shrinking property holdings in the private sector, and insufficient encouragement for private sector investments. Chamber President Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal urged the government to prioritize policy-level stability and support the economic and financial sectors.
