Baglung sees rising investment in hotels with tourists' inflow up

GALKOT (BAGLUNG), AUGUST 11: Tal Bahadur Kunwar, a resident of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-7, Resha, who transitioned to the hotel business 20 years ago after leaving his teaching profession, has expanded his investment with the increase in tourist arrivals in the district.

His hotel, known as a 'VIP' accommodation in Baglung, began with four rooms in a small house. It now boasts 24 rooms, and its investment has grown to Rs 20 million.

With the rise in both domestic and foreign tourist arrivals, other entrepreneurs in the area have also started operating well-equipped hotels. Another hotel with 30 rooms is in the final stages of preparation in Baglung Bazaar.

Investors believe this new hotel will be the most convenient option in the area. Entrepreneur Kunwar recognized the need for star-rated hotels in the district as tourist numbers gradually increased.

Arjun Chokhal, who has been operating hotels in Baglung since 2065 BS, has already invested Rs 40 million in the industry. Tourism destinations such as Kalika Temple, the world’s second-longest suspension bridge, Banji Bridge, Panchakot, and Shalgram Museum have attracted a significant number of tourists.
