377 industries shut down in Dhanusha

AUGUST 22: A total of 377 industries in Dhanusha district were closed for various reasons during the last fiscal year, 2023/24. Of these, 259 were classified under the commerce category, while 118 fell under the industries category, according to Kishori Sharan Yadav, Chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Office in Dhanusha district.

Yadav shared that the closure of these industries resulted in the loss of jobs for approximately 9,000 people.

Currently, 536 small-scale industries, 551 micro enterprises, and 1,058 cottage industries are operational in the district. These industries have directly provided employment to around 7,000 people, Yadav informed.

The Office collected over Rs 7.7 million in revenue from the registration and renewal of these industries in the last fiscal year, he added.
