Finance Minister Paudel for making Butwal a financial capital
LUMBINI, SEPTEMBER 1: Deputy Prime and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has stated that all stakeholders, including people's representatives, civil society, and locals, need to work together to make Butwal a financial capital.
Minister Paudel made this remark during a discussion on how to expand and improve the quality of services at the Lumbini Province Hospital. He held discussions with the hospital's development committee, administration, and department chiefs.
He emphasized that the development of this region is closely linked to the quality of services provided by the province hospital and urged all concerned parties to take appropriate action. "It is time to focus on the development and prosperity of Butwal city," he said.
The Minister expressed hope that the completion of the hospital's 12-story modern building would be a significant milestone. He assured that the government would not allow budget constraints to hinder the ongoing construction.
He further stressed that constructing a building alone is not sufficient; effective management, a capable workforce, and the availability of modern medical equipment are equally essential.
On the occasion, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, also urged the hospital administration to ensure the prompt and quality delivery of services.
Hospital development committee chairman Ajay Man Shrestha pledged to complete the provincial hospital's modern building on time. However, he pointed out that limited workforce and resources were hindering timely service delivery at the health facility.
Dr. Barsha Thapa, speaking on behalf of the department chiefs, reported that the hospital lacks sufficient human resources. She added that the hospital is facing a severe burden, with three times more service seekers than the patient-to-doctor ratio allows.
