TAAN elects its new executive body; Pandey now its new prez

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 3: Sagar Pandey has been elected as the new president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN).  He  was selected for the post in the election for the new executive committee of the TAAN held yesterday in the capital. Pandey secured 580 votes, defeating his opponent Rajendra Sapkota by a margin of 100 votes.

In other key positions, Karma Sherpa from the Sapkota-led panel won the Senior Vice President role with 558 votes, overcoming Cholendra Karki from the Pandey-led panel. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal from the Sapkota group secured the First Vice President position with 535 votes, while Sanam Sherpa won the Second Vice President position with 544 votes.

Sonam Gyeljen Sherpa from the Pandey-led panel was elected as General Secretary, defeating Rajendra Prasad Subedi from the Sapkota-led panel with 550 votes.

Additionally, Rinji Jangbu Sherpa won the Secretary position with 591 votes, Gautam Raj Wagle was elected Treasurer with 583 votes, and Lakpa Temba Sherpa was chosen as Deputy Treasurer. The elected central members include Pabitra Tamang, Ambir Bahadur Gurung, Binod Tamang, Hom Bahadur Bishwakarma, and Phurpu Chiring Lhomi (Bhotey).

The central members also include Ambir Bahadur Gurung, Binod Kumar Tamang, Hom Bahadur Bishwakarma, Phurpu Chiring Lhomi (Bhotey), Vikas Gurung, Sagar Rai, Chhapte Lama, and Raju Gurung.
