Over 100 thousand tourists visit Mustang in nine months

MYAGDI, OCTOBER 11: A total of 105,698 foreign tourists visited Mustang in the past nine months of 2024, according to the Area Conservation Office of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
Of these, 90,081 were from SAARC countries, while 15,617 were from other countries. As of October 6, 8,397 tourists entered Mustang via the Thorong-La Pass, which sits at an altitude of 5,400 meters.
The Office also reported that 2,896 tourists visited the district in the one-month period leading up to October 2. Tourist numbers have surged at popular destinations like Muktinath Temple, Kagbeni, the Korala border transit, Lomanthang, Sinja Jong Cave, Jomsom, Dhumba Lake, Thini, Marpha, and Lete.
In 2023, a total of 121,352 foreign tourists visited this trans-Himalayan district.
