NA wins gold in Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 13:  The Nepali Army (NA) won a gold medal in this year's Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024, held in Wales, United Kingdom.

The NA squad secured gold during the event, which took place from October 9 to 11. A total of 121 international teams representing 37 countries, including the host nation, Britain, competed for the prestigious title, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information.

The Nepali Army has participated in this annual exercise, established in 1960, for the past 24 years. The event challenges participants to cover a grueling 50-kilometer course within two days, carrying around 50 pounds of equipment, while demonstrating expertise in combat readiness, intelligence gathering, and medical management of injuries and illness.

This marks the third time the NA has earned gold in the competition, having previously won in 2017 and 2019. Held across the rugged terrain of the Brecon Beacons, the Cambrian Patrol is regarded as one of the toughest military exercises conducted by the British Army.

Major General Deepak Kumar Baniya represented the Nepali Army at the award ceremony.
