PM's Disaster Relief Fund accumulates over Rs 1.74 billion

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 17: Over Rs 1.74 billion has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund, according to details released by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The amount, collected to support disaster survivors, reflects contributions made up to October 16.
Both institutional and individual donations have been added to the fund. On October 16 alone, ten organizations and an individual donor, Vidyadhar Mallik, made contributions.
The Salt Trading Corporation donated Rs 6.1 million, the Non-Resident Nepali Association contributed Rs 5.1 million, and Rastriya Samachar Samiti provided Rs 326,038. Additionally, the Nepal Police Wives Association, Nepal Insurance Company, and Electricity Generation Company, among others, also contributed to the fund.
