High Court halts decision to vacate Pashupati Dharamshala

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 19: The Patan High Court has issued a short-term interim order preventing the immediate enforcement of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s decision to vacate the Gaushala Dharamshala at Pashupatinath. A single bench led by Justice Dal Kumar Khadka issued the order today, directing the metropolis and the Pashupati Area Development Trust to halt the evacuation temporarily.
The Marwari Seva Samiti filed a writ petition, arguing that the decision to remove the Dharamshala was unconstitutional. The petition listed the Pashupati Area Development Trust and 15 others as respondents. The court’s order states that a final decision on the dispute will be made after consultations with both parties.
