Stock market goes up by 9.09 points
Share prices of 143 companies increase, 89 decrease, and 11 remain unchanged
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 20: The NEPSE index has seen an increase of 9.09 points to settle at 27,011 points. However, the trading volume decreased by NPR 3.37 billion to NPR 7.09 billion from NPR 10.46 billion posted yesterday.
In today's trading session, the share prices of 143 companies rose, 89 declined, 11 remained unchanged. The development bank sector posted the largest increase, rising by 3.38%. Other sectors that saw gains included finance (1.66%), hotels and tourism (0.45%), hydropower (1.28%), investment (0.20%), microfinance (0.07%), and trade (0.27%). On the contrary, the banking, life insurance, non-life and other sectors decreased by 0.26%., 0.18%, 0.21%, and 0.07%, respectively. The production sector remained stable.
On Wednesday, eight companies saw their stock value rise by 10% each, including Corporate Development Bank, Sindhu Development Bank, Nepal Hydro Developers, Sapta Koshi Development Bank, Women’s Microfinance Financial Institution, Karnali Development Bank, Janaki Finance, and Support Microfinance.
On the other hand, the share price of Gurans Microfinance dropped by 10%, while that of Unique Nepal Microfinance fell by 7.06%. Other companies experienced less than a 3% decrease. In terms of trading volume, the top performers were Ngadi Group Power, Janaki Finance, Nepal Finance, Himalaya Energy Development Company, and Best Finance Company.
