Pokhara Eco Red Bricks providing employment to 100 youths

Its factory boasts of an investment of Rs 500 million

Pokhara Eco Red Bricks Pvt. Ltd., located in Polyang, Pokhara, has successfully provided employment to 100 Nepali youths. Engineer Krishna Bhakta Duwal, the Technical Director of Pokhara Eco Red Bricks, shared that the said number of people are currently employed by the company. “In the past, workers from Bihar, India used to be hired to operate particularly brick-firing structures in the company However, we have now been recruiting Nepalese manpower for the very purpose.

The company boasts of a Hoffman kiln-based brick factory to produce eco-friendly Chinese bricks. The  500 million factory is spread across the land of 4.324 hectares 985 ropanis). It has an annual production capacity of 10 million units of bricks. According to Duwal, they have every physical and non-physical resource to supply and sell their products nationwide. 

The Hoffman kiln technology belonging to Germany is a modernized version of the brick-firing method introduced 45 years ago at Bhaktapur’s Chinese Brick and Tile Factory and Lalitpur’s Harisiddhi Chinese Brick and Tile Factory. (Among these, the former is now operated by the private sector, while the latter has already ceased operations.)  Globally, the very technology is leveraged as an environmentally friendly method for brick production.
