NIC submits annual report to PM Oli

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 28:The National Information Commission (NIC) submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. Chief Information Commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung presented the report at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar. The report is scheduled to be tabled in the federal parliament through the Prime Minister.
During the event, PM Oli also unveiled a publication titled "Collection of Important Orders," which compiles significant rulings issued during the five-year tenure of the current NIC office bearers.
PM Oli emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the NIC in ensuring that relevant information reaches the concerned parties effectively. He further stated that while striving to uphold democracy, efforts should be made to prevent any form of anarchy.
Chief Commissioner Gurung reported that the NIC received a total of 5,182 appeals during his five-year tenure, of which 95% were successfully resolved.
The tenure of Gurung, along with Information Commissioners Kamala Oli Thapa and Ratna Prasad Mainali, is set to conclude on December 8.
