Nepse index decreases by 8.30 points

Stock values of 50 companies increase, while that of 194 companies decline

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 28: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index has dropped to 2,748 points today, down by 8.30 points compared to the previous day. As the market declined, trading volume also decreased. The total trading value, which was Rs 9.31 billion on Wednesday,  fell to Rs 8.54 billion on Thursday

The stock values of 50 companies increased, while 194 companies saw a decline. The trading group rose by 9.25 percent, largely driven by a 10 percent increase in the stock price of Bishal Bazar. This pushed the trading group's growth to 9 percent. The trading group is composed of Bishal Bazar and Salt Trading, and, in terms of market capitalization, Bishal Bazar is 10 times more powerful than Salt Trading. This is why, the group is heavily influenced by Bishal Bazar.

The development bank rose by 1.05 percent, while the life insurance increased by 0.47 percent. Other sectors that saw growth include banking (0.87%), finance (0.97%), hotels and tourism (0.80%), hydropower (1.58%), investment (0.87%), production (0.86%), microfinance (0.62%), non-life insurance (0.54%), and others (1.41%).

Stock prices of Bishal Bazar, Bin Nepal Microfinance, and Support Microfinance all saw a 10 percent increase. Additionally, the stock prices of Panchthar Power (8.3%), Life Insurance Corporation (8.1%), Janaki Finance (7.8%), and Miteri Development Bank (5.3%) also rose.

On the other hand, Manushi Microfinance experienced a 10 percent decrease in value, while Upper Syange Hydropower dropped by 8.6%, and Karnali Development Bank's value fell by 6.8%. In terms of trading volume, the top 5 companies were Excel Development Bank, Nepal Finance, Miteri Development Bank, Janaki Finance, and Ngadi Group Power.
