Stock market gains 17.80 points

Stock value increases for 142 companies, decreases for 97, and remains unchanged for 5.

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 3: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 17.80 points, closing at 2,775 points. Despite the uptick in the index, the trading volume declined. Today’s transactions amounted to NPR 8.52 billion, down from NPR 10.54 billion recorded yesterday. The share prices increased for 142 companies, decreased for 97, and remained unchanged for 5.

Sector-wise, the Finance grew by 1.39%, Hydropower by 1.85%, Life Insurance by 1.52%, Manufacturing by 0.06%, Trading by 5.96%, and Other by 0.27%. In contrast, Banking fell by 0.19%, Development Banking by 0.37%, Hotels and Tourism by 1.71%, Investment by 0.41%, Microfinance by 0.32%, and Non-Life Insurance by 0.52%.

Notably, the share prices of four hydropower companies—Divyashwori Hydropower, Ingwa Hydropower, Khanikhola Hydropower, and Joshi Hydropower—jumped by 10%. Additionally, Ngadi Group Power increased by 8.6%, Shivashree Hydro by 8.1%, and Chhyangdi Hydro by 7.3%.

The stock value of Bishal Bazar Company, which had gained 10% on Monday, rose by an additional 6.4% on this day, reaching NPR 7,015 per share.

In contrast, the share prices of Upper Syange Hydropower, Janaki Finance, and Gurans Microfinance declined by 9.5%, 6.1%, and 3.4%, respectively.

Ngadi Group Power, Janaki Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Best Finance, and NIC Asia Bank stood out as the top performers in terms of trading volume.
