Citizens Bank honored with "Bank of the Year 2024" Award

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5: Citizens Bank Limited has been recognized with the prestigious "Bank of the Year 2024" award at a ceremony held in London yesterday The honour was conferred by The Financial Times, a renowned institution based in the United Kingdom (UK).

The bank's Chairman, Prabal Jung Pandey, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ganesh Raj Pokharel, represented the institution and proudly accepted the award. Over 300 distinguished guests, including chairpersons, CEOs, and senior executives from more than 100 countries, attended the ceremony.

Expressing his pride in the achievement, Chairman Pandey described the award as the “Oscars of the banking industry” and a significant milestone for the institution. He emphasized that this recognition inspires the bank to deliver even more innovative, technology-driven banking services to its customers.

CEO Pokharel echoed this sentiment, attributing the success to the unwavering support of stakeholders and the relentless dedication of the bank's employees. The Financial Times annually honors banks worldwide with the "Bank of the Year" award, recognizing exceptional performance and innovation. Citizens Bank's accomplishments have earned it this coveted title for 2024. The list of award-winning banks is published annually in The Banker, a magazine by The Financial Times.

Notably, Citizens Bank recently introduced Nepal's first-ever “Citizens Virtual Credit Card” in partnership with PhonePe. This innovative product enables users to access credit card services directly through their mobile phones, eliminating the need for a physical card.
