Nepal Rastra Bank announces record-high exchange rate for US dollar

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 17: The Nepal Rastra Bank has announced the foreign exchange rates for today, with the US dollar reaching a new record high. The steady upward trend in the value of the US dollar continues, registering another increase today.
Alongside the US dollar, the exchange rates for several major currencies, including the Euro, British Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Saudi Arabian Riyal, Qatari Riyal, Thai Baht, UAE Dirham, Malaysian Ringgit, South Korean Won, Swedish Krona, Hong Kong Dollar, Kuwaiti Dinar, Bahraini Dinar, and Omani Riyal, have also seen an upward adjustment. Conversely, the Canadian Dollar has depreciated, while the rates of a few other foreign currencies remain stable.
As per the central bank, the buying rate for one US Dollar is NPR 138.19, and the selling rate is NPR 138.79. Similarly, the buying rate for one Euro is NPR 142.17, while the selling rate is NPR 142.79. The buying rate for one British Pound Sterling is NPR 168.67, and the selling rate is NPR 169.41. Likewise, the buying rate for one Swiss Franc is NPR 151.54, with the selling rate set at NPR 152.20. These rates reflect the latest trends in the foreign exchange market as determined by the central bank.
