Temperature gradually increasing in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 24: The Westerly low-pressure system is currently influencing the western region of the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country experiences fair weather. Fog is prevalent in most parts of the Tarai region.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar noted that the foggy conditions in the Tarai region are expected to persist throughout the coming week, gradually dissipating afterwards.

In the Kathmandu Valley, temperatures are slowly rising. The minimum temperature recorded on Thursday morning was 6.1 degrees Celsius, and it remains the same this morning. The maximum temperature in the Valley is forecasted to range between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius today.

This afternoon, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, with mainly fair weather in other provinces. Light snowfall may occur in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali province.

Tonight, partly cloudy weather is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country will have mainly fair conditions.

Over the next 24 hours, there remains a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali province.

The Department has issued a warning for Saturday morning, urging everyone to remain cautious as widespread fog in the Tarai region may disrupt daily life, agriculture, health, transport, and civil aviation.
