Birgunj Customs Office sees rise in export

BIRGUNJ (PARSA), JANUARY 26: Goods worth Rs 29.27 billion were exported to various countries through the Birgunj Customs Office in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Office, exports have increased by 100% compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, which recorded exports of Rs 14.56 billion. The significant rise is attributed to the increased export of processed soybean and sunflower oil to neighboring India, said Amit Tiwari, Information Officer of the Birgunj Customs Office.

In terms of revenue, the office collected Rs 176.6 million from exports in the first six months of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 103.81 million during the same period last year.
