Surya Life Jyoti's profit increases to Rs 196 million

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4: Surya Jyoti Life Insurance Company has reported a profit of Rs 196.1 million by the second quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the company’s unconsolidated financial statement, this represents a 3.37% increase compared to the same period last year, when the company earned a profit of Rs 189.7 million.
The company’s earned insurance premiums have increased by 19.83%, and its total income has grown by 19.35%. At the same time, the claims paid by the insurance company have risen by 22.26%, while total expenses have increased by 19.78%.
The earnings per share (EPS) have decreased by Rs 0.7, bringing it to Rs 7.83. As of the end of Poush (mid-January), the company’s price-to-earnings ratio stands at 56.73 times, and its net worth per share is Rs 123.44.
The company, with a paid-up capital of Rs 5.01 billion, has accumulated Rs 386.9 million in its disaster fund, Rs 328.2 million in retained earnings, and Rs 49.8 million in other equities.
