NRB officials criticize targeting of Global IME Bank in cable car project

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 6: Guru Prasad Paudel, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has criticized the connection between the ongoing Pathibhara cable car project in Taplejung and Global IME Bank, calling it a mistake.
In a post on social media, he remarked, "It is incorrect to target Global IME Bank, a Class A commercial bank licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank in relation to the Pathibhara cable car project. It is advisable not to engage in such unruly activities, even if provoked."
Similarly, Ashok Kumar Rai, Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, also addressed the issue on his Facebook page, stating, "We should refrain from targeting individuals such as Chandra Kumar Dhakal, chairperson of the IME Group, in opposition to the cable car project." Alluding to the attacks on some branches of the Group, he remarked that it would not yield positive results as seeking a resolution through dialogue with the government is the only best alternative."
