Revenue Department's action against illegal importers

LUMBINI, FEBRUARY 26: The Revenue Department has filed a case against two individuals involved in illegally importing packaging materials used for alcoholic beverages.
The items, worth millions of rupees, were brought into the country by evading customs duties.
According to the Revenue Investigation Office in Butwal, a case has been filed against the two individuals, seeking the recovery of Rs 52 million along with a fine for customs evasion. The smuggled items included bottle lids.
Office Chief Bibek Ghimire stated that the accused, Sashank Khanal of Belhiya, Siddharthanagar-1, and Ramesh Gautam of Chaurideurali Rural Municipality-4, Kavrepalanchowk, have been charged at the Butwal bench of the High Court, Tulsipur.
The case was filed under the Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) Act, 2052.
