Gharti appointed as CEO of Best Finance
He is credited for enabling troubled finance companies to get back on their feet
KATHMANDU, MARCH 10: Best Finance, backed by investments from Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) individuals, has appointed BN Gharti as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The board of directors at Best Finance picked him for the post for a four-year term. Gharti replaced the former CEO, Umesh Bhandari, who left the company after completing his tenure.
Eleven years ago, he served as the acting CEO of the then-Kist Bank and in recent years, Gharti has been active in the banking consultancy sector. He acted as a consultant for Nepal Finance and Sambuddhi Finance to recover from their troubled status and helped these two organisations to recover from their troubled status. It was again under his consultancy, Best Finance, which had previously been declared problematic, was able to recuperate from its losses.
Notably, his book, Banking Discipline, earned him the "Samaana Banking Award" this year.
Gharti, who holds an MBA in management, is currently pursuing a PhD.
