Current Noodles being exported to 22 countries

KATHMANDU, MARCH 20: ‘Current’ instant noodles, a product of Yashoda Foods, are said to be becoming increasingly popular in the Nepali market. Made using locally sourced ingredients and food products, the company claims that the very products have recently seen a surge in international demand as well.
Yashoda Foods has been producing a variety of snacks, including instant noodles, using 90% Nepali raw materials while maintaining an international-quality taste. Alongside strong domestic sales, the company is also expanding its presence in global markets. ‘The noodles of the Current brand, which have become a top choice among Nepali consumers, are now being exported to 22 different foreign countries.
Such countries are India, Australia, and the United States. Other key export destinations include Canada, Singapore, Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai/UAE, Japan, the United Kingdom,etc. Italy, Malaysia, South Korea, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Qatar, New Zealand, the Cayman Islands, and Papua New Guinea are other nations where the noodles are sold.
Yashoda Foods sources local agricultural products, such as Akabare chilli, Gundruk (fermented leafy greens), Sichuan pepper (Timur), buckwheat, millet, and locally produced flour, to manufacture ‘Current’ noodles and other snacks.
"Particularly, the younger generation, from urban centres to rural areas, are opting for Current noodles in an increasing fashion. The primary attraction lies in its distinctively rich, hot, and spicy flavour," states the company by claiming that it exclusively uses locally sourced ingredients to ensure high quality and adequate health standards. All products undergo rigorous laboratory testing and comply with food safety standards set by the Government of Nepal before being released into the market.
Yashoda Foods, which began producing instant noodles in 2017, operates factories in Butwal and Chandrouta, Kapilvastu. It plans to further expand production and international market reach in the near future.
According to the company, it puts a premium on quality, innovation and ethics to effectively meet and exceed consumer expectations.
Yashoda Foods reports an annual turnover of approximately Rs 6 billion.
