Ghising to challenge his dismissal in Supreme Court

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25: Kulman Ghising, the dismissed Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), is set to move to the Supreme Court today, seeking to overturn the Cabinet’s decision to remove him from the post.
Talkking to aarthiknews.com, Ghising confirmed that he began legal preparations immediately after receiving his dismissal letter. The Cabinet meeting yesterday had decided to relieve him of his duties.
Before his removal, the government had repeatedly sought explanations from him regarding his position and performance. The Ministry of Energy had also questioned him several times.
Ghising was appointed as the Executive Director of NEA by a cabinet decision on August 9, 2021, with his tenure originally set to last until August 8, 2025.
