Wildlife Awareness Week begins today

CHITWAN, APRIL 14: Wildlife Week is being celebrated from today with a series of community-centred awareness programs aimed at promoting wildlife conservation.
The Chitwan National Park, in collaboration with the Buffer Zone Management Committee, will host a variety of events and activities throughout the week to raise awareness among local communities about the importance of wildlife and its conservation.
The week-long celebration commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Park office. According to Abinash Thapa Magar, Information Officer at Chitwan National Park, community awareness programs will continue for the next seven days.
"Conservation efforts are more effective when communities understand the importance of wildlife,” he said. “It helps reduce poaching and mitigates human-wildlife conflict.”
Given the vital role local communities play in protecting wildlife, flora, and fauna, Wildlife Awareness Week has proven to be a valuable initiative in guiding them toward sustainable conservation practices.
