Middle Marsyangdi’s power generation restored to full capacity

LAMJUNG, JUNE 10: Power production from the Middle Marsyangdi Hydropower Station in Lamjung has been restored to full capacity. The current power generation is 70 megawatts. Production at the project had dropped during the winter due to lower water levels in the river.
However, with sufficient water flow now, the hydropower station has returned to full production. Production had dropped to 24 MW in December but began increasing in mid-March, finally reaching full capacity three days ago.
The project is supported by two turbines, each with a capacity of 35 MW. Completed in 2008 at a cost of Rs 27 billion 200 million, it serves as the first electricity project in the district.
