Kathmandu to host UNDP Asia Pacific regional meeting

KATHMANDU, APRIL 23: UNDP Resident Representatives of 35 countries including the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations are coming to Nepal for the Asia Pacific regional meeting of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
According to the information shared by the Secretariat of Finance Minister Barshman Pun, they will arrive in Kathmandu on April 29. UNDP Resident Representative for Nepal, Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labe’, shared about the visit today in a courtesy meeting with Finance Minister Pun yesterday.
Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of UNDP Kanni Wignaraja will join the meeting. Wignaraja is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Finance Minister Barshman Pun and Minister for Energy Shakti Bahadur Basnet. During the meeting, Labe shared about the work that UNDP is doing to help Nepal’s endeavours for poverty alleviation and about the Global Green Climate Fund going to be implemented in Nepal.
