Murarka castigates NEA for not showing evidence of electricity dues

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 31; Former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Pashupati Murarka, has criticized the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for not presenting evidence of electricity dues related to dedicated feeders and trunks.
“We asked the NEA to show the records of Time of Day (ToD) metering to pay dues. But it flatly denied our request. This shows its gross insensitivity towards our concerns,” he said while speaking at a press conference today in the capital. It was held by the owners of those industries whose power supply was cut off by the Authority citing their failure to pay the bills in a timely way.
Murarka claimed that most of the manufacturing houses, affected by the stoppage of electricity supply, have been getting a 2 per cent discount by paying their electricity fees regularly.
According to him, the lack of power is not only hampering the daily operations of industries but also triggering great financial losses to them.
